Chipping in and around the green can really make or break a score or even how enjoyable a round of golf can be.

But it's also one of the golf shots we have to do quite regularly off very different lies.

Downhill lies in golf can be notoriously difficult especially when close to the green because if you don't connect with them you can end up fatting or thinning the golf ball and be in a worse position in terms of position but 1 stroke down (we've all been there).

A really simple tip to make chipping on a downhill lie 100 times easier is to line up your sternum with the angle of the slope. This allows us to make sure our low point in the golf swing is where we want it which means no more fatting or thinning the golf ball!
