The king went hunting and first saw Mulla Nasiruddin on the way. Enraged, he said: "This man is unlucky. Today my hunt is ruined. Give him twenty lashes and send him away." The king's order was carried out. But the hunt was splendid. The king summoned Mulla Nasiruddin. "I made a mistake, Nasiruddin. I thought you were unlucky. Now I see that's not the case." Nasiruddin jumped three feet high and said: "You thought I was unlucky? You saw me and killed twenty-six deer, and I saw you and got twenty lashes. Who's unlucky, can't you see?"
