Buddhism and Jainism: Differences between the Buddha and Mahavira (Jainism) Images

Differences and Similarities in the Statues of Buddha (Buddhism) and Mahavira (Jainism):
Mahavira was the 24th Tirthankar (Supreme Teacher) of Jainism.
He was a contemporary of Gautama Buddha, though there is no evidence that they ever met each other. However, they and their followers did regularly meet with each other's followers.
To the untrained eyes, statues of Buddha and Mahavira Image might appear the same, but both are very different when observed closely.
