Locomotive New Look plus building a New Locomotive Storage Barn.

You'll see various stages of them building this new locomotive storage
barn in front of our existing locomotive and car shop.

Iron Synergy is the name of the company that currently owns Cumberland
Mine. Iron Synergy is owned by 2 gentlemen who have put up tremendous
amounts of their own money to buy and run the mine. There is no
corporate board of directors to make decisions, nor are there board
members that are paid a salary. Decisions are made by the new owners
in conjunction with Cumberland's management team here at the mine.

Our last company that owned us was Alpha. They filed bankruptcy and
restructured as Contura. Under Contura there was not a lot of money
available for capital improvements. Iron Synergy has spent millions
upon millions of dollars for capital improvements along with the
tremendous costs which are associated with building a new embankment
(slate pile). They have also gone and looked at a fleet of newer hopper
cars, however with some recent under ground and prep plant disasters
purchasing those cars is currently on hold. Rumor has it they did
purchase 2 brand new Cat D10 dozers for the slate pile, but so far they
have not shown up.

It is great to see our new owners putting so much money that has
been desperately needed for several years now into the operation.
They are committed to mining and transporting coal. They are
also spending a lot of money in the surrounding community to
help charities. And if you are looking for a job and don't mind
starting out under ground, they are currently hiring new miners.
