(053) Metroid Prime 2: Echoes 100% Walkthrough - Boss: Emperor Ing

In this part, we take on Emperor Ing and collect the final segment of Energy.

Difficulty: 7/10

The Emperor has 3 different forms/phases. In the first form (which is by far the hardest in my opinion) EI will have multiple tentacles flailing and sweeping at you to do damage, the goal is to shoot them until they are retract back into EI. Once they do, EI will reveal its eye, and begin to fire a laser that will stun us momentarily if we are hit. The goal here is to shoot the eye in the small section between the two barriers around it. After enough damage is dealt, it will shift into its 2nd form.

In the 2nd form, the Chrysalis, we must climb up EI's body using the Spider Ball and trick the tentacles to come out and attack us from each hole. Once we get them out, we destroy every one of them. EI will send smaller Ing up to knock us off, while constantly emitting a poisonous gas. After all of the tentacles have been destroyed we enter the 3rd Phase/form.

In the 3rd Form, Emperor Ing gains jumping shockwaves, random firing light beams, and a ram attack. He will also occasionally call in a group of Nightbarbs to surround himself. (You can easily use the Darkburst to kill off a ton of these and get Energy and Ammo back) The goal here is to shoot Super Missiles into EI's mouth when the inside looks like a Red Flame. After enough damage the flame will turn Purple for Darkness or White for Light. Here we must fire the opposite beam into EI's mouth to inflict damage (or just use the Annihilator Beam for both like me and save a ton of time!) After a while we'll drain his health and finish him.
