Описание к видео The Black Europe Symposium: An Event Recap

On March 23-24, Loyola University Chicago hosted its first Black Europe two-day symposium. The symposium was part of a larger series of initiatives designed to bring people to celebrate and discuss global Blackness in its many instantiations. The symposium gathered a diverse group of writers and artists of African descent who contribute to today’s European cultural life in its many forms. Students, staff, and scholars from the greater Chicagoland area were among the guests who gathered to foster a sustained reflection on the shifting valences of "African", "European" and "Blackness" in the context of today’s Europe and the United States.
