This was such a cool project to work on, the animated backdrop for CATS with BBEXP at the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh in late July 2024 just before the 2024 Edinburgh Festival. Made using a mixture of Autodesk Maya, Blender and After Effects combined with video, 3D projections and some stock elements over June and July 2024. Masterfully teched in live in the theatre by MM Sound and Lighting on show nights.

"Production wise this is a clever and intuitive show, gone is the rubbish dumps and the back streets of London replaced with a large video wall and the open expanses of the festival theatre stage. Peter Doris video design harnesses animated scenes from Edinburgh itself that brings the show home to its local audience. Keigan Hawthorn’s lighting design is excellent lighting both the vast stage and the auditorium and while Murray Armstrong’s sound design had one small sticky moment it delivers ensuring a perfect balance between performers and Musical Director Linda Stewart excellent 13 strong pit orchestra.
