Panchkedar signifies the five manifestations of nature namely Air, Water, Fire, Land and Sky.
Out of these, we are going to visit Rudranath, which signifies Fire amongst the 5 Pancha Bootham. Nakulan and Sahadevan [ twins ]were born with the grace & blessings of Ashwini gods ,who had the capacity to foresee time & Future. Amongst the twins, Nakulan was very handsome right from his birth. His name also signifies Intelligence , Hard work, attraction and a symbol of victory. Nakulan had immense expertise in Bow& Arrow and Sword fight. He was also well versed with the Ayurvedic system of medicines. Nakulan prayed and paid penance to Lord Shiva in Rudranath and thus the place came into existence

ருத்ரநாத்தினை நாம் இப்பொழுது தரிசிக்க உள்ளோம். சுயம்பாக தோன்றிய அழகிய சிவபெருமானின் முகத்தினை இந்த ருத்ரநாத்தில் காணலாம். உலகத்தில் வேறுஎங்கும் இம்மாதிரியான சுயம்பு லிங்கத்தினை காணமுடியாது. பஞ்சபாண்டவர்கள் சிவனை தேடி இமயமலை வந்தபோது இந்த ருத்ரநாதில் தான் முகவடிவில் காட்சியளித்த தாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
