The Pulsar NS400Z is powered by the same 373cc single-cylinder engine from the Dominar 400. The engine delivers 40PS at 8800rpm and 35Nm at 6500rpm, it is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike has a 12-litre fuel tank and has a claimed top speed of 154kmph.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 comes with a 43mm inverted fork and a gas-charged monoshock. It features an all-new 320mm floating front disc brake with axially mounted callipers whereas the rear has a 230mm disc, both equipped with Grimeca brake callipers and come with dual-channel ABS, sensitivity varies according to the selected riding mode. The Pulsar NS400Z is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels with 110-section front and 140-section rear tyres, where only the rear tyre is radial.
