Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Master Excel Transpose with a Formula.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this episode, we will be discussing some corrections and amplifications to previous episodes. In episode 835, we learned how to transpose with a formula using the INDEX and COLUMN functions. However, thanks to a suggestion from Kyle Munson, we have discovered another way to do this using the TRANSPOSE function. By selecting all the cells where we want the formula to be and typing =TRANSPOSE, we can easily create a live transpose formula. Just remember to press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to enter the formula into all the cells.

In episode 833, we talked about how to close Excel. I mentioned the double-click method, but completely missed that this tip had been previously sent in by Adrian Cooper. So, a big thank you to Adrian for sharing this great tip with us. And another thank you to Joe Martin, a frequent contributor to the podcast, for reminding us that Alt+F4 is a quick and easy way to close any application, including Excel. This shortcut works in both the old and new versions of Excel, as well as in any other application. So, next time you need to close Excel, just hold down Alt and press F4.

Speaking of shortcuts, my kids often leave video games running on the computer and I can't seem to find the menu to close them. In these situations, Alt+F4 is a lifesaver.
