NW Metro Cities Grapple With 'Forever Chemicals' and Water Supply

Описание к видео NW Metro Cities Grapple With 'Forever Chemicals' and Water Supply

Many water treatment plants in the state — including Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park — don't have equipment to remove so-called "forever chemicals” from the water supply. PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals that don't break down naturally in the environment. With companies 3M and Dupont expecting to settle federal PFAS class action lawsuits, Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove could each potentially collect millions of dollars. But, the settlements won’t be enough to cover the costs of the equipment needed to remove PFAS from the water.
