जब हम नर्सरी से गुलाब का पौधा लाते हैं तो उस पर ढेर सारे फूल और कलियाँ होती हैं।
लेकिन एक हफ्ते में सारे फूल और कलियां सूख जाती हैं।
और हम में से अधिकांश शिकायत करते हैं कि बाद में कोई या कुछ खिलता नहीं है।
यह स्थिति गुलाब के पौधे को दिए जाने वाले पोषक तत्वों की कमी के कारण हो सकती है।
हम में से बहुत से लोग गुलाब के पौधे को पोषण प्रदान करने के लिए प्याज के छिलके और अन्य किचन स्क्रैप का उपयोग करते हैं।

लेकिन डेडहेड को सही तरीके से हटाने की एक ट्रिक है।
डेडहेड को तीन पत्तियों और पांच पत्तियों के बीच के तने को काटकर निकालना होता है।
यदि फूल के नीचे तीन पत्तियाँ न हों तो पाँच पत्तों के नीचे तने में चीरा लगाकर डेडहेड को हटा दिया जाता है।
डेडहेड हटाने की इस तरकीब से गुलाब का पौधा प्रति पौधा बहुत सारे फूल पैदा करता है।

When we buy a Rose plant from a nursery, it usually has many flowers and buds on it.
But in a week’s time, all flowers and buds dry up.
And most of us complain that the plant no longer blooms after that.
This situation can arise due to lack of nutrients given to the Rose Plant.
Many of us use onion peels and other kitchen scraps to provide nutrition to Rose plants.
That results in the Rose plant not getting all the nutrients it requires to produce a lot of flowers.

Another reason that is to be blamed for lesser blooming in Roses is that we don’t remove deadheads from our Rose plants.
A deadhead is the dried up Rose flower that has seeds.
Like all other plants, the Rose plant too wants to pass on its genes to the next generation.
And once a set of flowers fully bloom, the plant directs all its energy towards converting the flowers into seeds.
And while doing so, it doesn't produce any new branches or flowers.
So removing Deadheads forces the Rose plant to restart the process of making more seeds and it once again diverts all its energy into producing new Rose flowers.
But there is a trick to remove Deadheads the right way, you can’t just chop it off willy-nilly.
The Deadhead has to be removed by cutting the stem in a place between three leaves and five leaves.
If there are no three leaves set below the flower, the deadhead is removed by making a cut in the stem below five leaves.
This trick of removing Deadheads makes the rose plant produce a lot of flowers per plant.
