Leprechaun Origins Movie Review

The seventh movie in the franchise was handed off to the WWE of all things, bringing us Leprechaun Origins. Dylan Postl, aka "Hornswoggle" would star as this new Leprechaun, in a dark and gritty re-imagining of the tale. And by re-imagining, I mean the director absolutely despised the Leprechaun series and set out to throw away anything that made the Leprechaun series "Leprechaun" and just make a horror movie.

The result, "Leprechaun Origins" is about as standard of a horror movie as you can get. Young adults end up in an old cabin in the woods, in the outskirts of a small rural village that harbors a dark secret. A monster stalks them, and picks them off one by one as they proceed to make a series of stupid decisions to keep the running time at least 90 minutes.

For the sake of branding, this creature is to be called a "leprechaun" and we're expected to pretend that it actually is one.
