The answer is: Kind of.
Washington is a town just outside of Hartford, Connecticut in the United States. Washington is the town that Stars Hollow is based on! The creator of Gilmore Girls stayed in Washington at The Mayflower Grace Hotel when she was so inspired by the town that she came up with the idea for The Gilmore Girls.
