After a month off to rest, heal and wait out some snow… I am super excited and nervous to announce that I am getting back on trail!! Whoop!!

I weighed all my options, considering time, snow, my overall goals and have come up with a plan that is best suited for Me. Everyone is choosing their own post-desert adventure this year, and no one way is the right way! They are all the right way for the person making that choice for themselves!

I have chosen to not return to Tehachapi. I had already decided I wasn’t going to do the Sierra this year. It is just too dangerous for my comfort and not how I wanted to experience that area. So it really did not make any sense to me to travel all the way back to Tehachapi just to finish the 140miles to Kennedy Meadows, just to flip north to where I already was (Reno). When I return another year to hike the Sierra, I will start off in Tehachapi and complete those miles then!!

But for this year… I am getting back on trail in Chester!! I really wanted to complete as much of NorCal as I can. Starting in Chester also allows snow further up the trail to keep on a melting!! Lol!

I have 90 days to complete the remainder of this trail and whether or not my body allows me to make it to the border, I will be super proud of every mile I do get to complete.

This is a journey between me and God and I am
Excited to see and experience all that he wants me too!!

I am also going back on trail with a new trail name! LifeSaver had some negative connotations to it for me so I decided it was no longer fitting for me to continue using that name. My friend Jodie (who is a pct hiker) renamed me Pivot!! Which I think is incredibly fitting and suits me SO well. I have worked really hard in the last couple years to master the art of Pivoting, it’s been “my word” for the last couple years and I’ve done a lot of hard pivoting on this trail as well!!

So I am super excited to get back out there with a fresh name and fresh outlook!!
