When you’re doing your strategic planning, you may be considering changing your business strategy entirely for the coming year. But is it really worth it?

Maybe, but it's unlikely.

A retrospective on your company is encouraged and necessary. And there are cases where your strategy has fallen short and needs a complete overhaul.

But more likely than that is that you should be making an iterative change. Some things may already be working, and you should double down on those.

Other things may not be working, and you’ll need to pivot.

But many times, the thing that has the biggest impact in your strategic planning is the little stuff. While the big stuff might be exciting to talk about, it’s the little things that packs a punch throughout the year.

Keep asking yourselves: “How does this end for the year?” And be prepared to do this all again next year.
