Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week in Northern California ahead of an expected drop in temperatures. Meteorologist Tamara Berg said after a pleasant morning with mostly clear skies and light winds, the high temperature for Wednesday could hit 90 degrees in downtown Sacramento. The average for this time of year is 83 degrees. Later this week, temperatures will begin to run cooler, along with the occasional north wind. Berg said that Saturday is forecast to be the coolest day of the week, possibly reaching the mid-to-upper 70s. There could even be some Sierra showers. Next week is likely to return to a warming trend.
