Motor Excess Insurance is a supplementary insurance policy designed to reimburse you, should you have to pay your excess on your motor insurance policy.

For example, if you had a bump, and the cost of the repair was £1,000, then your motor insurer would ask you to pay the set amount stipulated in your policy, otherwise known as an excess.

Let's say you have a combined (compulsory and voluntary) of £600, then you would have to pay this amount with the motor insurer footing the remaining £400 on the bill.

If you had a Motor Excess Insurance policy then you could pay the excess to the motor insurer and then claim back the excess from your Motor Excess policy.
