Our highlights film from the 2023 Malcolm Wilson Rally. Due to the first 3 stages being cancelled because of safety concerns, we based ourselves for the three stages in Greystoke and produced a livestream for the opening stage for spectators that weren't able to travel or were waiting in Grizedale. It was great to see the WRC Rally1 Ford Puma competing for the very first time on British soil as Jourdan Serderidis used the event as a test before flying to Mexico to compete in the third round of the WRC. A good event win for Adriene Fourmaux in the Fiesta Rally2 again, ahead of his trip to Mexico for the WRC series.
Many thanks to the organisers who endured a lot of criticism for cancelling the first three stages. Spectators need to remember that the events are put on for the competitors, not for us, and that we are able to spectate on the majority of events. The organisers have a duty of care for everyone, competitors, marshals and the spectators. Sometimes, situations are taken out of their and, like it or not, we need to go along with their decisions. Also, many thanks for the marshals that we saw throughout the day.
