In this episode of DJs BrewTube I review yet another big ass DIPA. What big ass DIPA you ask? Why, none other then Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA

In the words of Deschutes:

"Hop Henge Experimental IPA is our annual exercise in IBU escalation. An outrageous amount of Centennial and Cascade hops are added to each barrel, with a heavy dry-hop presence as well. It is dense and muscular, with a blend of crystal, pale and carastan malts creating an overall biscuity characteristic. It's all hop, no apologies."

Anyway, enough prose, enjoy the video. My written review and report card follows:

Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA WRITTEN REVIEW:

A - Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA pours a somewhat hazy amber body. Two fingers of off white foam with sticky lacing and lasting retention. No alcohol aroma but alcohol legs abound.

S - Citrus, dank resin and tropical fruit into huge pine. Very juicy and fresh with a dash of bready malts. Even at a month old its still smelling damn good.

T - Pine, grapefruit, and crackery malts. Dry yet juicy. Not as great as the nose and actually rather boring. Seems to just be missing something. Slick and creamy mouth feel. No alcohol taste at all.

M- Full, coating mouth feel. The carbonation is spot on and for such a big bee this brew goes down almost too easy. Very drinkable despite its burly make up. Some alcohol warming as it goes down.

O - Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA is a damn good DIPA even with a few weeks on it.
