In Punaauia (Tahiti, French Polynesia), Geocean is supporting the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant by delivering a 1.4 km HDPE submarine outfall, designed to discharge treated effluent further offshore and contribute to the long-term protection of the lagoon and shoreline.

Throughout the offshore works, Geocean’s teams pursued a dual objective:
✔️ Delivering high-performance marine infrastructure
✔️ Minimising environmental impact on the lagoon ecosystem

Enhanced marine marking, weather-dependent work windows, optimised dredging, silt curtains, controlled anchoring and shoreline reinstatement were implemented to preserve lagoon water quality while securing the treated wastewater discharge.

This project is a concrete illustration of how marine construction, environmental responsibility and local community protection can be aligned.
