Studying phenomena at the high energy frontier has been one of the primary ways to understand the building blocks of matter and their mutual interactions for the past century. As the largest and most powerful particle collider ever built, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) continues the quest to push the frontiers of scientific understanding to the highest energies and smallest distance scales ever achieved. As a machine built for both precision and discoveries, the past 7 years have delivered spectacularly on both fronts. In this talk, I will review some of the unique progress that the LHC has made on the understanding of known phenomena, discoveries of new phenomena, and the explorations of entirely unknown phenomena. Finally, I will discuss the future prospects of physics at and beyond the current high-energy frontier.
