They fall by gravity through blowers where the lighter shell and husks are separated from the pecan nut meats.

Pecans are graded by Electronic Eyes know as Color Sorters. These Satake Color sorters remove foreign materials like shells from the pecans. Once cleaned, the pecans are inspected on vibratory tables.
