Airlift has played a big part in putting Pakistan on the startup map. Everything the startup has done is seen with a macro and micro lens.

From multiple record breaking raises to pivoting amidst the COVID19 pandemic and now adjusting to the global economic climate with a highly visible reduction in workforce (followed by SWVL, Careem Now and others), Airlift has gone through a lifetime worth of change in a few short years. What’s commendable throughout all of this has been the efforts and humility displayed by the founders.

My guest today, Ahmed Ayub has been front-and-center in all the success and adversity that comes with being a co-founder of a major startup. He has been committed to creating a brand capable of selling the Pakistan story on a globe scale.

A product-focused founder, it’s fair to say that Ahmed is not one for the limelight. However, I believe he deserves credit for all that he and the team has accomplished in such a short time.

This discussion gave me a better understanding of what makes Ahmed unique, despite his insistence on being a regular Joe - his humble and down-to-earth persona. This one’s a must watch for startup and non-startup enthusiasts alike.
