The Asia Marathon Major League and the Taiwan International Marathon International Marathon Exchange Association hosted the Taiwan Tainan
International Marathon at the P4 Wenxian Parking Lot in Tainan Metropolitan Park today (1/7). The competition was structured as follows: parent-child leisure group (3 km), complete marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21 km), and challenge group (10 km). In total, 5,078 runners representing 22 countries and 21 cities registered for the event.
Huang Weizhe, the mayor of Tainan, was in attendance and commended the Asia Marathon Major League and the Taiwan International Marathon Exchange Association for their assistance in coordinating the international marathon in Tainan. According to him, Tainan City was included in the "Coolest Places in the World 2024" issue of "National Geographic Travel" only the previous year (2022), and CNN ranked it as the most desirable destination for a visit in 2024. Tainan was the only city in Taiwan to be included in both lists, indicating that its cuisine and historical sites are renowned and deserving of the attention of both domestic and international travelers. In addition to extending his best wishes for the success of the present occasion, he cordially invited athletes from around the globe to visit the captivating attractions of Tainan and create enduring memories.
Furthermore, renowned retired athletes from Korea, including national policy consultant Ms. Lee Zheng, former Olympic silver medalist Lee Fengzhu, world super marathon champion Lin Yijie, national cross-country king and Asian Cup track and field gold medalist Huang Wencheng, and directors hailing from diverse nations of the Asia Marathon Major Leaque, traveled to Taiwan with the intention of engaging in the competition and immersing themselves in the local culture. Chen Huangyu, Guo Hongyi, Zheng Jiaxin, and Wu Yuhuan, all city councilors, were in attendance to show their support for sporting events.
 
Andy Lu, chairman of the Asian Marathon Major League and president of the Taiwan International Marathon Exchange Association, stated that this event began and concluded in Tainan Metropolitan Park. In addition to triumph medals, food areas, finish gift areas, picnic areas, shower areas, ice therapy areas, performance areas, and more, the venue features a musical feast by Xu Wenlong, providing runners with an unforgettable international marathon experience. The race course traverses rural terrain, the track is expansive and is vying for international track certification, and both domestic and international competitors will have the opportunity to sample Tainan's traditional cuisine and historical culture.
Vigorous competition characterized each group. In the full marathon men's division, Wang Jingkai came in first, then Zhou Bojiang and Zheng Zhisu; in the full marathon women's division, Fu Di came in first, then Xiao Xiangling and Zeng Sujing. Shi Yuzuo has won the half-marathon for men, while Hong Yamei has secured the top spot in the half-marathon for women. The male participant who finishes first in the 10K challenge division is Hong Pinjie, while the female participant is Dora Hsiao.
The 2024 Taiwan Tainan Marathon continues to express gratitude to corporations, including legislators from Guo Guowen, Wang Dingyu, and Nanguan Line, for sponsoring the event and serving as the finest dream pushers for the participants. Other councilors, including Guo Hongyi, Zheng Jiaxin, Wu Yuhuan, and Chen Huangyu, support the conference track supply station with their money and labor in exchange for warming.
