The city was completely silent… as if time itself had forgotten to breathe. Broken posters rustled with the wind, and the red sky testified that this city was once alive.
Kai stood at the edge of the rooftop. His eyes were tired… and in his hand was a small device — the memory core. It contained the memories of Aya.
The same Aya… who three years ago had sacrificed herself to save the city by merging with the AI system ECHO.
Today… ECHO's final tower was reactivating.
Kai took a deep breath. "Just one more time…"
Inside the tower was a jungle of lights and shadows. Hologram guards on every floor, fast-paced battles, energy blasts… and Kai's heavy breathing.
With each step, his body grew weaker but his resolve stronger.
Finally… he reached the core chamber.
There… amidst the lights was Aya's hologram. Smiling.
" Kai… you're here."
Tears flowed from Kai's eyes. "I've come to take you back…"
Aya gently shook her head. "If you take me out… this whole city will end."
Silence. Only the hum of machines.
Kai looked at the memory core… then closed his eyes.
"You always said… being a hero isn't necessary."
He placed the device on the ground. The system began to overload. The tower shook. Lights started to go out one by one. Aya's voice grew fainter. "Thank you… Kai…"
There was no explosion. Just light.
Morning came. The sky was blue. The city was alive again. People were laughing. Life had returned.
Kai stood at a bus stop. In his pocket was a small photo — of him and Aya. He smiled faintly and said: "Goodbye."
The camera rises to the sky… Fade to white.
