EX-SNP minister Fergus Ewing didn't waste anytime after being suspended as he quizzed the First Minister over the A96 upgrade during today's FMQs.

Mr Ewing was handed a one week suspension after repeatedly rebelling against Humza Yousaf’s government on key policies.

The First Minister missed the meeting after earlier telling a committee he had “man flu” and taking the rest of the day off.

Mr Ewing’s suspension comes after he repeatedly rebelled against the SNP-Green Government - and voted for minister Lorna Slater to be ousted.

He has criticised Mr Yousaf’s government on policies such as the gender recognition reforms, highly protected marine areas and the lack of progress on dualling the A9.

Earlier this month he rebelled against the government in a vote over calls for a 12-month delay to a short-term lets licensing scheme.
