As we are used to from games with an apocalyptic setting, we play one of the few survivors of a disaster that happened a very long time ago.
In Rage you take on the role of an Ark Survivor who is not averse to the bigger fights.
Our story begins with an Earth barely recognizable, overrun by bandits, mutants, and other creatures that should never have seen the light of day.
Despite the fact that the world of Rage has been pretty messed up by the events of the year 2029, there is talk of a thriving industry in the game.
After playing a few extra missions you will soon have to deal with the many vendors in the small settlements who sell us anything and everything.
This includes not only weapons, but also different types of ammunition, parts for the vehicles and blueprints and parts for special devices.
If you take a moment's break between all this violence, you will see that the world of Rage is quite nicely put together.
The environments vary quite a bit and just when you think you'll never get out of that desert, you're suddenly in a gigantic tundra environment.
Combine this visual splendor with the wonderfully atmospheric sound effects and subtle tension-building music and you have a game that already manages to stimulate at least two senses quite well.
