Mrs. Hannah Forster, Executive Director of the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) and Madam Fatmata Ndoye, Programs Manager of Partners West Africa were earlier today invited at QTV Gambia on its famous ‘This Morning’ Show.
The two delved into the level of readiness to host a two – day Regional program on monitoring women’s participation in ECOWAS & The Sahel workshop organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare in collaboration with Partners West Africa and the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS).
With support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the event is slated to kick start from the 30th - 31st of May 2024 in Tamala Hotel, Banjul. The theme of the workshop is ‘Sentinels with the ‘He For She’ to strengthen and consolidate the rights of women and children for peace and social cohesion’.
Participants will be drawn from Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Chad.
The overall objective is to create a framework for exchange and dialogue with CSO leaders, national and sub-regional women’s rights platforms and networks to discuss and propose effective solutions to refine national strategies, and sub-regional and regional advocacy for the effective involvement of women in mediation and decision-making processes.
