Saint Hubert, born in the 7th century, was a nobleman and avid hunter in the Ardennes region of present-day Belgium. After encountering a stag with a crucifix between its antlers during a hunt, he converted to Christianity. He renounced his former lifestyle and devoted himself to God, eventually becoming the Bishop of Liège. Saint Hubert is revered as the patron saint of hunters, opticians, and mathematicians.

He is also invoked against rabies due to a legend where he miraculously cured a man bitten by a rabid dog. His feast day is celebrated on November 3 in the Western Christian tradition and November 30 in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Saint Hubert's life serves as an example of conversion, faith, and divine intervention.
