This panel will discuss how a masters in library and information science (MLIS) graduate curriculum can enhance an orchestra librarian’s skill set. MLIS programs serve students and professionals from a variety of subject backgrounds, and programs can be tailored to the unique needs and interests of each student. Topics will include reference requests, cataloging, preservation, and copyright. The panel will discuss the practical application of MLIS curricula in the performance library, and factors to consider when choosing an MLIS or certificate program.
