After completing this video you will be able to:
Identify the four layers of the gastrointestinal tube: mucosa, submucosa, muscularis, and adventitia.
Explain the presence of undulations at the border between the epithelium and lamina propria in the esophagus.
Identify the layers of mucosa: epithelium, lamina propria and muscularis mucosae.
Define: microvilli (brush border), villi, plicae circulares and discuss their function of each.
Identify sections of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and liver.
Discuss the direction of blood flow and bile flow in the hepatic lobule.
Identify gastric pits and glands, gastric mucous glands, parietal cells, peptic cells, goblet cells, and hepatic cells and discuss the function of each.
Locate the central vein of the liver, hepatic sinusoids, portal triad and portal tract.
