Going around corners on your stairs will seem easy with the help of the Platinum Ultimate stairlift.
This is a single-rail, curved stairlift that fits most stair types and boasts some unique features you won’t find on any other model. Let’s show you in more detail why this lift could be the one for you.

Why Choose the Platinum Ultimate?
Every rail is configured to suit your stairs. The Ultimate can turn around any bends, including flat landings, fan-shaped, narrow, spiral and even multi-flight staircases.
The rail can travel on either side of your stairs with many different start and end positions available to get the best fit for you and your stairs. If you have a doorway at the bottom of the staircase, there’s an optional first step start meaning rail wont protrude onto an open hallway or door. You won’t have to climb the step to get onto the chair- the lift will gently lower down to the ground floor so you can get on and off safely.
The chair and footrest folds up when not in use or you can leave it all unfolded and ready to go. When you fold up the seat, the footrest folds in too. The chair will normally face the banister or wall. For narrow stairs, the chair can travel in a downward facing position to negotiate tight bends. Unlike other models there’s an option for the lift to travel in a forward-facing position, perfect for narrow stairs or if you feel uneasy facing downwards.
To operate, sit in the seat, fasten the seatbelt and press the arm control in the direction of travel with constant pressure, until the lift automatically stops at the end of the rail. The chair will turn to a safe position for you to get off the lift. There is a choice of joystick control or rocker switch – whichever you find easier to operate.
The stylish seat upholstery comes in a variety of wipe clean vinyl colours.
The remote Call/Send controls can be used if there are two people in the house or to park the lift out of the way.
All stairlifts are battery powered and charged by parking the lift on a charge station normally at the top or bottom of the rail, and sometimes at an intermediate or mid-landing charge station. A battery charger unit will run from a mains socket in your house. If you have a power cut the lift will still work.
If the stairlift is beeping, that’s because there is an audible alarm to tell you there’s no power coming through to the lift, it is either off a charge station or the powerpoint is switched off.
So are stairlifts safe?
Absolutely - all stairlifts have inbuilt safety features as standard.
The Platinum Ultimate has a reel seatbelt, similar to a car style seatbelt, that should be worn when in travel.
There are pressure safety edges around the lift so if you meet an obstruction on the stairs, it will stop automatically to prevent trapping hazards. The constant pressure controls mean you can stop the lift any time by releasing them.
There’s also an inbuilt digital display showing the status of the lift allowing any faults to be diagnosed.
In compliance with safety standards, you should have your lift serviced and safety checked annually. We offer various maintenance packages to help support you and keep your lift running safely and smoothly.
All models have a safe weight limit and this model will hold a person up to 120Kgs that’s around 19 stone. This model also offers a heavy duty option if you need extra weight capacity up to 160kgs which is around 25 stone.
