The Wild Portages/Portages Sauvages Route in Opemican National Park in Quebec is awesome! I went on a solo canoe trip there and enjoyed it immensely. The area reminds me a lot of Temagami, but is a bit more accessible and close to home. There are 3 portages to get into the lake I stayed on, and they weren't too difficult to get through. The campsite was beautiful and with only one site on 2 of the 3 lakes in the route, it was extremely quiet and serene. I made some tasty meals, tried a new food item, went for a ride around the lake on my sleeping mat and did a bit of paddling. Come check out this interesting route that is seldom used at Opemican National Park and enjoy a gorgeous summer weekend with me.

The canoe I'm paddling in 2025 is an H2O Solo 14-6 in the Epoxy Pro Series Prolite Carbon: It has carbon integrated gunwales, epoxy resin, a carbon outer skin and kevlar inner layers. It weighs approximately 32lbs. This canoe was created to celebrate H2O's 20th Anniversary displaying the standard 20th anniversary symbols of asters, platinum and emeralds. There are also 10 asters per side, totalling 20, to represent the years H2O Canoe Company has been in business.
