How to Make Textile with Citrus Peel ?

Bio-fabric: Citrus Peel Sachet

With increasing population size, waste of food and textiles is becoming a greater concern. Bio-fabric, a recyclable textile made from wasted food and other biodegradable material, has been proposed as a possible solution for both issues. The project creates one such fabric using citrus peel as raw material and further uses it to make a sachet. In Western art history, the orange color represents wealth, while in Chinese medicine, a sachet of citrus peel can bring patients good health. The sachet is thus a wish of wealth and health for its users. The project is intended to raise public awareness of the environmental issue and encourage small actions to reduce pollution, such as collecting wasted citrus peel. There is also a video instruction with ingredients that are intended to draw the interest of the public to participate in the creation of bio-fabrics.
