In today’s lesson we’re breaking down Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, one of the most iconic riffs in rock history.

This lesson is taught in standard tuning, so you can learn the song exactly as I play it live without needing to detune my guitar. We’ll start by walking through the famous E-minor riff, looking at finger placement, muting, tone control, and how to lock into the groove like Jack White.

From there, we’ll explore the power-chord section, ideal for developing pick control and rhythm playing. To finish the lesson, we’ll learn the solo using a bottleneck slide, giving you an introduction to slide technique, vibrato, intonation, and how to get that raw, bluesy White Stripes tone even when you’re the only guitarist on the gig.
