Add A Tachometer To Any OBS Ford

FULL DISCLOSURE: IF YOU DECIDE TO DO THIS MODIFICATION TO YOUR OWN TRUCK MAKE SURE YOU GET A GAUGE CLUSTER THAT MATCHES THE SAME YEAR OF YOUR VEHICLE. THERE WERE CHANGES TO THE WIRING ACROSS THE YEARS. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT IN YOUR VEHICLE NOT CHARGING PROPERLY AS WELL AS DISRUPT THE ABS SYSTEM.

If I had known it was this easy to add a tachometer to my truck I would have done this YEARS AGO!!! I'm especially glad that I didn't just go and buy a aftermarket tach. in the past that would've required me to drill into my dashboard. Even though I installed the tachometer gauge cluster in my 1994 truck without any issues I made the mistake of buying a gauge cluster that wasn’t the correct year (I purchased a 1992 gauge cluster) which resulted in the alternator to not charge properly, and left me stranded on the side of the road. Instead of hunting down another tach. gauge cluster somewhere I ended up going back to the gauge cluster that was originally in my vehicle to start off with. I still wanted to leave this video posted because this modification does work, but take it from me you have to be EXTRA CAREFUL to find the right year gauge cluster. Ford changed the wiring for the gauge clusters in the middle of the production years, so someone might think they’re buying the same year cluster when in reality they’re a couple of months off.
