Welcome to my YouTube channel with a new video. Today our topic of discussion is
"Antidote of different NSAIDS in cats".

Cat owners frequently make this mistake when their cat becomes iII and in order to normalize, they administer commonly used human first aid NSAIDs to their cats.

This practice must be discontinued because cats: are susceptible to toxicity from commonly used NSAIDs such as
paracetamol
ibuprofen
aspirin and others.

In simpler words, the cause is a lack of a liver enzyme (glucoronyl transferase). Because this enzyme is responsible for the metabolism of these drugs: its absence means no metabolism, which leads to toxicity.

Toxicity symptoms in cats differ depending on breed and dose consumed
Vomiting
Dark urine
Difficulty breathing
Swelling of the face and paws and other symptoms may occur.

Other than NSAIDs, cats can be toxic to
Gentamycin
Kanamycin
Griseofulvin
Ketoconazole and others.

The antidote for this toxicity in cats is N acetyl Cystine.

If you live in Pakistan then it comes under the brand name Mucolator 200mg.

Take one packet of 200mg then dissolve it in sufficient water and feed the cat if its weight is 4-5 kg.
If the cat's weight is less than 4-5 kg you can use half a packet, BID (Twice a day)
