Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the CURT 44 inch wide class five universal weld-on hitch with the two inch hitch receiver and the mounting brackets. Now, this is a universal weld-on hitch. It's designed for use on service body trucks and utility body trucks. And as you can see, this hitch will come in a three-piece design.

Has the main body tube right here and the two attachable side plates that allow the hitch to fit multiple vehicle frame widths. Basically, you can see these are designed or cut out to slide onto the tubes, and the same over here. These a quarter inch thick, heavy-duty, adjustable side brackets. They'll slide along the hitch body to match exactly the width of your vehicle frame before being welded to the hitch. These brackets will get welded to the two.

The side brackets will fit frame widths from a minimum of 18 inches up to a maximum of 44 inches. And after this is installed on your vehicle, a bracket height produces a drop of nine inches from the vehicle frame. Meaning the top of the vehicle frame to the center of this hitch opening is gonna be nine inches. All these parts have a nice, black powder coat finish to them. Helps resist rust and corrosion.

After these are welded to the tube, and it is a weld-on installation to your vehicle frame. This is a nice, solid construction for maximum strength and safety. I did wanna zoom in and just show you, they use these elongated, oversized safety chain holes right here that'll allow the use of safety chains that have large hooks. Now, the main body tube itself is 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Overall width, from end to end is 44 inches.

The receiver opening we have mentioned is two inches by two inches. This is a class five rated hitch. Does have a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 16,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 1,600 pounds.
