The history of English translations of The Divine Comedy

Описание к видео The history of English translations of The Divine Comedy

A discussion of the history of English translations of The Divine Comedy since 1782. Dante went from near-obscurity in the Anglophone world to being translated into English more than any other language, with new versions constantly coming out.

Please excuse a few little skips with awkward pauses. I had to edit out sections where my voice went to pot, and one wardrobe malfunction, and start those lines all over again. It would've been too much effort to root out the split-seconds which were left in those split frames. This is all a huge learning curve for me, but my filming and editing skills are steadily improving!
