While the Battle of Okinawa, Japanese Army dig the long shelter underneath of the Shuri Castle for setting the headquarter. That's why Shuri Castle got totally smash down by U.S. troops.

The shelter is still remain, but not open for public.

Most of young Japanese including Okinawan don't know the history about the Shuri Castle in the Battle of Okinawa, and we wish to open it in future and let people to know about this side of the castle.
