Welcome to Feel Good Garden with Linda 🌿
Today we're working on Plot Two – the Sunshine Garden – with exciting updates including potting on peppers and chillies, forcing rhubarb for an earlier harvest, sowing brassicas, and sharing real allotment gardening tips you can use at home.
In this episode, I show you step-by-step how I grow peppers and chillies from seed, including sweet peppers, Thai hot chillies, Bishop’s Crown, and California Wonder. I also share my seed soaking method using tea to speed up germination, plus how to prick out and transplant leggy seedlings into plug trays.
We also check on my rhubarb forcing experiment — and the results are amazing! Forcing rhubarb helps produce tender, sweeter stems earlier in the growing season. I’ll show you exactly how to do it using simple allotment tools like buckets and bamboo supports.
You’ll also see brassica seed sowing including broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts using chamomile tea for natural antifungal protection. Plus, we chat about polytunnel growing, seed starting tips, weather challenges, and keeping your allotment productive year-round.

February is the start to a really busy time of year in the garden from clearing and mulching your planting beds to the start of sowing seeds and potting on, ready for an early harvest this year.
