The Challenge of Choiceless Awareness | David Moody

Описание к видео The Challenge of Choiceless Awareness | David Moody

At first glance, choiceless awareness looks like something easily accessible,
not too difficult to understand or actualize. On closer inspection, however,
this apparently simple idea presents challenges and obstacles not apparent
on the surface.
In this presentation, we will examine some of those challenges and try
to discern how to resolve or transcend them. We will consider numerous
quotations from Krishnamurti’s teachings to show what he means by
choiceless awareness, and show why it is a profound and subtle proposal, as
well as one that is fruitful and revealing in the course of daily life.
David Moody is the author of Krishnamurti in America: New Perspectives on
the Man and his Message. This full-scale biography gives special attention to
the crucial events in Krishnamurti’s life that occurred in the United States,
events that have been neglected or overlooked by previous biographers.
The book also describes Krishnamurti’s teachings as they have changed and
developed over the course of several decades.
David previously wrote An Uncommon Collaboration: David Bohm and J.
Krishnamurti. He served as teacher and as educational director of the Oak
Grove School during its early years, and he was appointed director of the
school in the final years of Krishnamurti’s life. He holds a PhD in Education thoughts and reactions are revealed in the mirror of relationship. It is not
a debate where thought is paramount, but a deep, unhurried listening to
ourselves and others. In this safe and respectful space, awareness can arise.
Terry O’Connor is a retired psychotherapist who found Krishnamurti’s
teachings invaluable in his work. He and his wife, Kathy Franklin, have
hosted dialogues in their home since 1992 and have organized the annual
Memorial Day Krishnamurti Dialogue and Gathering in Maryland since it
began in 1995.
