Opening of the West Norfolk Eye Centre

Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and North East Cambridgeshire MP, the Rt Hon Steve Barclay, today (15 July 2022) officially opened our new £3 million West Norfolk Eye Centre.

Our new Eye Centre opened its doors to patients in May 2022, and provides a dedicated, specialist ophthalmology outpatient facility at QEH for the first-time and frees up valuable outpatient space in the main hospital for other specialties.

The Secretary of State was accompanied by his constituency neighbour, North West Norfolk MP James Wild, together they joined Operations Director Denise Smith in unveiling a plaque before meeting patients and staff to hear first-hand how a new and bigger facility will allow for increasing numbers of patients requiring ophthalmology services to be treated.
