Making a Secretary Desk. We custom made this Secretary for a client out of solid cherry with hand cut dovetailed joinery and a secretary top with two doors with handblown glass panels. This custom slant front desk and bookcase has elements from both 18th century Queen Anne and Chippendale Secretaries. This Secretary is handmade with hand cut dovetails, hand planed surfaces and hand shaped moldings along with other forms of traditional joinery and techniques. This desk interior is custom made with traditional looks for modern day uses with spaces designed for a laptop, i pad, i phone etc, along with 4 secret compartments. The secretary top has two six pane doors with hand blown glass.
