After Transfer Of Tata-Airbus Project To Gujarat, Former Minister Aditya Thackeray Slams Shinde Govt

The news that Vadodara, Gujarat, would be the site of the development of the Tata-Airbus C-295 freight aircraft project sparked tension amongst political parties on Thursday in Maharashtra. The opposition charged that the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis administration had permitted the transfer of yet another project to the neighbouring state. As Gujarat snatched up the Rs 22,000 crore Tata-Airbus project for producing 56 military transport aircraft to replace the Indian Air Force's ageing Avro fleet, just one and a half months after the Rs 1.5 lakh crore Vedanta-Foxconn project went to Gujarat, the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra came under fresh criticism from the opposition. On October 30, PM Narendra Modi will officially lay the cornerstone for the IAF transport aircraft manufacturing project in Vadodara in the presence of the defence minister Rajnath Singh, the minister of civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, and the chief minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel.
