No country seems to determine everything in the landscape so much as in the Netherlands. Civilisation appears alienated from nature. The last natural witnesses, which remember the rise of our dominant society, are being demolished by neo-liberal infused overconsumption and exploitation.

The Wilderness, an undisturbed place just for the natural world, is at first thought impossible to find in a land so purposefully created by human hands. The film tells a story of a turbulent past and a warning for today. I explore forgotten places where thousands pass by every day. I search for wild corners of nothing but with everything and discover that the Wilder- ness is not yet a lost cause.

A novel view of Wilderness is not merely a human notion but a demonstration of ethics towards nature. With patience, reflection, contemplation and devotion, I search, find and invite the Wilderness into our self-created country.
