The kilt is a Limerick tartan. Scottish tartans would usually have a family/clan name to them (i.e. weathered McKenzie), but Irish tartans maintain both clan & townland tartans. This tartan was passed down from my grandfather, Séamus Hunt.

This was recorded in Glenquinn castle, Co. Limerick. Glenquinn is an area near Tournafulla, Killeedy, Ashford & Strand/Monagea. It’s on the edge of Sliabh Luachra & has amazing history, especially with it’s involvement in the Irish war of independence.
