A delegation from the Office of the President and the College of Honours this evening presented their ‘reguregu’ at the Bovoro residence at Pacific Harbour in Deuba.
Led by His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, the delegation also included former President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Colonel (retired) Apakuki Kurusiga, Mr. Michael Yee Joy, and Dr. Raiwalui.
During the presentation of the reguregu, the Matanivanua for the Head of State, Mr. Usaia Radrokai, mentioned that the passing of Mrs. Bovoro will be deeply felt, not only within the institution she led but also among the first responders during times of disaster.
Mr. Radrokai mentioned that Mrs. Bovoro has advanced within the Saint John Association, and her experience has led to the organisation's transformation.
Mrs. Bovoro was a College of Honours ( Fiji Honours System) member.
The Fiji Honours System was created in 1995 by an Act of Parliament to provide for the establishment of Honours and Awards in Fiji. It is governed by the “Honours and Awards Act 1995”.
The Fiji Honours system provides an Order of Fiji which has three levels and an associated medal.
