1979 Playoffs game #5 Rangers at Islanders 3rd Period

Описание к видео 1979 Playoffs game #5 Rangers at Islanders 3rd Period

Poor video quality (sorry!), and the audio is a bit behind the video at times, but a great closing period of vintage hockey.

The Rangers lead 2-1 after two periods, in an intense game they would win 4-3 on the road, and take a 3-2 series lead. (The first 3 goals are shown at the start, and the 3rd period starts at about the 4 minute mark.) This is the Ranger broadcast version.

This game had some controversy, the Islanders tie the game 2-2 on a goal that never went in the net! The goal judge behind the net thought it did, the referee took his word, and back then there was no review. But the Rangers overcame that bad break and scored the final winning goal late in the period.
